About Me

Dennis M. Hicks is a college educated, Masters Degree holding adult in debt.  Not too unusual in this day and age.  He is living with nearly $15,000 in credit debt, over $90,000 owed on a mortgage and over $90,000 in student loan debt. With the looming date of student loan repayment nearing - reality hit.  He MUST make changes in his life in order to pay for the high life he lived from 1993 to 2012.

Born and raised in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan and having attended Marshall University - receiving a Bachelors of Art in Art Education and a Masters of Art in Counseling he has effectively accrued a level of debt that is enough to cause anyone's hair to turn prematurely gray.

Dennis appeared on The Suze Orman Show that first aired on CNBC on December 1, 2012. This is when the shift in thinking really took place and he began to live in his truth.  He now shares his truth with others who seem to not be able to find their way out of the black hole of debt and hopefully providing insight to others so that they will not follow a similar path.

The ultimate goal for Dennis is to be credit debt free by 2015 and to continue to share his story with students and parents so that they are able to make informed decisions based on his first-hand experience.
